Naples Afragola is a proposed railway station of Naples. Construction is currently on hold. ==Overview== The station, located in the Greater Naples town of Afragola, has been designed to be used by all high-speed trains on the Rome–Naples high-speed line that do not start or finish at Napoli Centrale station but instead operate over the Naples–Salerno high-speed line. The architect Zaha Hadid formally presented the station's design on 4 November 2003. The station building was originally meant to be build on a bridge above the tracks and will have four levels with a maximum height of . It was planned to have an area of , with provision for an additional The station was due to be open in 2009 when the rail network operator, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) first awarded the €59.5 million construction contract to a consortium, but subsequent disputes over the price caused RFI to call tenders again and construction is currently on hold.〔
